Booking photos were released Friday of three suspects in the alleged killing last weekΒ of Arthur Felix Candelaria, 57, of Indio.
An assault with a deadly weapon was reported in theΒ the 84000 block of Lingayan StreetΒ shortlyΒ after 7 p.m. Monday Jan. 13 and deputies responded to the neighborhoodΒ in the unincorporated county area of Indio, Sgt.Β Jeff Buompensiero of the sheriff'sΒ Central Homicide Unit said in a statement.
"Upon arrival deputies located a Hispanic male adult in the driveway of a residence,"Β Buompensiero said.Β "It appeared the male had suffered several stab wounds. The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, but died from his injuries."
Detectives from the Thermal Station and the Central Homicide Unit responded to investigate.
They identified a suspect the next day and arrestedΒ David Montoya Sanchez, 43, of Indio, on suspicion of murder,Β in the area of Jackson Street and Avenue 52 in Coachella,Β Buompensiero said.
On Thursday Jan. 23, detectives arrestedΒ Raymond Anthony Lopez, 22 of Indio, on suspicion of murder, andΒ Melanie Anaya, 22, of Coachella, on suspicion ofΒ accessory to murder,Β Buompensiero said.
As of Friday afternoon, Sanchez, Lopez and Anaya remained behind bars in Indio. Sanchez and Lopez wereΒ held without bail, and Anaya was held on $500,000 bail, according to inmate records. Sanchez and Anaya have court dates Jan. 27 and Lopez has a court date Jan. 28.
