Two structures were damaged, including at least one residence, and the American Red Cross was called to assist the people who were forced from their homes, she said.

Denise King of the Southern California Gas Co. said the vehicle struck a gas meter, which fire department crews turned off when they arrived at the scene, preventing any natural gas from leaking. Gas Co. crews were sent to the scene to β€œpinch” the service line leading to the meter so the vehicle can be removed and additional repairs can be done, King said.
