CA's Favorite Jelly Bean Flavor For 2018 May Surprise You

Getting ready to stock up on some jellybeans ahead of those Easter egg hunts? Then, you'd probably like to get the flavors everyone will love. Here in California β€” and nationwide β€” the top flavors may surprise you.

The people over at Candystore.com conducted a festive study on the most popular jelly bean flavors from every state, through the use of sales data and customer surveys. The results showed that overall, Americans love their buttered popcorn.

That's rightβ€” the top flavor in the nation is buttered popcorn, overtaking last year's top pick of black licorice. And here in California, we seem to be no different.

"Yes, it's polarizing. But it's also America's number one favorite jelly bean flavor," said Candystore.com."Thousands of people love this smooth, salty and savory jelly bean the best, while others scrunch up their noses when it's mentioned. Some even write nasty comments about it in their survey form… :) But when the results were tallied, more people loved buttered popcorn flavor than any other."

Besides their popcorn beans, residents of the Golden State like their black licorice beans (the second most popular pick in the state) along with their cotton candy beans (the third most popular pick in the state).

"Californians like their grass green, skies blue, and jelly beans butteredβ€”buttered popcorn that is," according to the candy connoisseurs. "You never know someone’s true colors until they show you!"

The company says they created the rankings using jelly bean sales data for more than a decade, as well as SurveyMonkey and Facebook polls of more than 12,000 people.
