Christmas-Themed Dinner Theater Comes To Riley's Farm

"A Christmas Carol" and "Christmas in the Colonies" will be performed at the popular Oak Glen destination.

OAK GLEN, CA β€” Beginning Dec. 1, Oak Glen will be celebrating the most wonderful time of the year, with two different Christmas Dinner Theater programs – β€œA Christmas Carol” and β€œChristmas in the Colonies”

The 1880s Packing Shed on the farm will host a yuletide event based on Charles Dicken’s beloved, β€œChristmas Carol,” featuring hay rides, dancing, a full meal, and vignettes featuring the redemption of Ebeneezer Scrooge. Unlike many theater events, the characters are both on stage, and in the audience, prompting you to play along. The meal includes corn chowder, fresh baked bread, English roast beef, Cider Baked Ham, Cheese Potatoes, Buttered Green Beans, Candied Carrots and a dessert table.

On the roadside portion of the farm, at the β€œHawk’s Head Public House,” an 18th century Christmas will be celebrated by candle light. Colonial Virginians were known to have spent an entire month celebrating the advent of the Christ Child’s birth. Activities will include Christmas caroling, dancing and tomahawk throwing. Jefferson Chartreuse, Cider Baked Ham, Mt Vernon Pie and Maple Pecan Bread Pudding.
