BANNING, CA β€” As the holidays come to an end and you're trying to figure out how to recycle that gorgeous (well, perhaps not quite as pretty as it was a few weeks ago) Christmas tree, residents in Banning and Beaumont have an easy solution: place it out front.

Waste Management of the Inland Empire is again holding its curbside collection through Jan. 9.

If you're going to take advantage of the free pickup, remember to strip the tree of any decorations. Also, keep in mind that if your service day is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday this week, your pickup will be delayed by one day due to the New Year's holiday.

"Residents in all service cities/areas are asked to remove decorations, including tinsel, lights, ornaments and tree stands from their tree," Waste Management officials said in a news release. "In addition, trees higher than 5 feet must be cut in half for those without green waste services. Residents are reminded that flocked trees cannot be recycled. They will be collected by the trash collector."
