LOS ANGELES β Labor Day is here, and we've rounded up some of the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to help catch you up on the long weekend.
But before we jump into SoCal's other top stories: Late-season showers that kept things wet for portions of the Southland this weekend should let up as clearer skies emerge, but forecasters expect temperatures will keep to the cooler side until later in the week. For those heading out for Labor Day, a high surf advisory will be in place through Tuesday for beaches in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

"Although temps are forecast to gradually warm over the next few days, high will remain several degrees below normal," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Sunday. "For [Tuesday] and [Wednesday], expected highs in the warmest valleys and lower mountains should be in the mid-to-upper 80s, except around 90 in the Antelope Valley."

Closer to San Diego, forecasters expect a deep marine layer will stick around for a while longer, keeping the chance alive for a little more drizzle for a couple more days.
