Coroner IDs Banning Woman Killed In I-10 Hit-And-Run

The 29-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on the I-10 Freeway on March 13.

BANNING, CA β€”A 29-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver nearly one week ago was identified Tuesday as Christina Rodriguez of Banning.

Officials are seeking information on the driver who fled the scene, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol.

Just after 12:30 a.m. on March 13, officers responded to the scene of a hit-and-run collision at 8th Street and I-10, where they found Rodriguez's body. CHP officers say that she was walking within the lanes of the I-10 eastbound when an unknown vehicle struck her, and then fled the scene.

It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash, CHP Officer Jonathan Torres said.

identifying the hit-and-run vehicle.
