Coroner IDs Paraglider Killed In IE Mountainside Crash
Firefighters were unable to rescue the unidentified paraglider victim who crashed in the San Jacinto area, 1,000 feet up the mountain.

SAN JACINTO, CA β The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau identified a Southern California resident as the person who died in a paraglider crash Sunday.
The victim, later identified as Cameron Chapman, 34, of Long Beach, died on the side of a San Bernardino County mountainside Sunday, according to the coroner's report. His identity was released following notification of next of kin, according to the bureau.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m., firefighters called a hoist helicopter to the scene at the 200 block of Soboba Road and Gilman Hot Springs in Unincorporated San Jacinto. There, a paraglider had crashed near the 1,000-foot level of the mountainside, a spokesperson for Cal Fire / Riverside County Fire Department said over X, formerly known as Twitter.

As the firefighter/medics reached the victim, it became apparent the victim was already deceased.
