Deadly Badlands Crash: 2 Of 4 Family Members Killed In SUV
The coroner's office has identified the two brothers who died in the wreck.
BEAUMONT, CA β Two people killed in a head-on crash along a portion of State Route 60 called the Badlands last week have been publicly identified. Meanwhile, the man accused of crashing into them after driving recklessly is expected to face charges after being released from the hospital.
The deadly crash happened around 1:10 p.m. Thurs., Sept. 5, as 55-year-old Mitchell Finesod of Cathedral City was driving westbound on the 60 about two miles east of Gilman Springs Road, according to CHP Officer Darren Meyer. Finesod illegally passed vehicles on the shoulder when he clipped a big rig, spun out of control and hit a black Jaguar SUV that was approaching in the eastbound lanes, Meyer said.
Two people in the SUV were killed instantly, Meyer said. The Riverside County coroner's office identified them as 18-year-old Fahad Alogaily and 20-year-old Ahmed Alogaily.

The two men were brothers and their parents were in the vehicle with them, but survived, according to Meyer. One of the brothers was driving the SUV, while the other sat in the left rear seat.
The area where the crash occurred is in the midst of a major construction project and there is currently only one westbound lane open to traffic, often leading to lengthy travel delays.
