Earthquake Shakes Riverside County

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA β€” A 3.6 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Riverside County on Saturday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reports. The temblor struck at 4:59 p.m. local time and was initially reported as a magnitude-3.7 but was quickly downgraded.

According to an automatic report from the U.S.G.S., the earthquake was centered about 2.9 miles below the earth's surface. It was centered:

  • 8.3 mi E of Anza
  • 9.8 mi SSW of Aguanga
  • 12.5 mi NNE of Idyllwild
  • 23.6 mi NE of Palm Springs
  • 33.8 mi NW of Moreno Valley
  • 46.9 mi NW of San Bernardino

There were no immediate reports of damage.
