Feeding America Riverside-San Bernardino Receives $60K Grant
Albertsons Foundation provided the grant.

The following is a press release from Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino:
INLAND EMPIRE, CA β Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) aims to better mitigate local hunger issues through a $60,000 grant from Albertsons Foundation's Nourishing Neighbors Program - helping connect thousands of individuals facing food insecurity to nutrition programs.
According to FARSB and kidsdata.org, 65.5% of Riverside County K-12 students and 70.9% of San Bernardino County K-12 students use free and reduced school program meals. With support from Albertsons Foundation's Nourishing Neighbors Program, FARSB can continuously operate and strengthen their Grab n' Go summer meals program. Several school districts across the Inland Empire host Grab n' Go distributions β making shelf-stable food boxes and fresh produce available to families and their children at no cost.
"This generous donation from Nourishing Neighbors will support FARSB's mission in the fight against hunger in our community," said Carolyn Solar, CEO of FARSB. "We're grateful that Albertsons Foundation's Nourishing Neighbors are partnering with us to help ensure our neighbors can access reliable, healthy food resources."
FARSB is the leading hunger-relief and food rescue organization serving the Inland Empire region through partnership with over 250 local nonprofits. The food bank operates multiple nutrition programs and works to create a hunger-free reality for children, seniors, veterans, and neighbors in need.
