Fire Damages Storage Structure Behind San Jacinto Home

SAN JACINTO, CA — A fire that erupted Thursday in a storage building behind a San Jacinto home caused extensive damage to the structure but did not reach the occupied residence.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 2:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Eden Valley Way, just east of Lyon Avenue and just south of Almaden Park, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Multiple engine crews from the county, Hemet and Soboba Tribe fire agencies were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the outbuilding, according to reports from the scene.

Firefighters knocked the blaze down 15 minutes later.

The cause was under investigation.
