Firefighters Attempt Rescue Of IE Driver After Car Rolls Over, Ignites

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — One person was killed in a single-car collision in Jurupa Valley overnight, a spokesperson for Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters said.

Emergency responders arrived at Limonite Avenue just east of Juan Bautista in Jurupa Valley shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday after multiple reports of the fiery crash.

Following the crash, the vehicle had come to rest on its side leaving the driver trapped inside, according to reports from the scene.

Firefighters attempted to free the victim from the car as flames engulfed the vehicle. That occupant died at the scene, a Cal Fire spokesperson said.

Riverside County Sheriff's Officers were overseeing the investigation into the cause of the crash.

The victim's identity was withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
