Holiday Traffic Snarls I-10 Freeway Near Banning
Westbound traffic on the I-10 between Palm Springs and Banning was crawling along at less than 20 mph as the holiday weekend ended.
PALM SPRINGS , CA β The pandemic may have reduced holiday travel, but it wasn't enough to spare Interstate 10 through the San Gorgonio Pass from the usual Thanksgiving weekend gridlock.
Traffic was a slog by midday Sunday, and a multi-vehicle crash on the I-10 near the Hargrave Street off-ramp forced three lanes to be temporarily shut down at around 12:30 p.m., which compounded delays for westward motorists.
Traffic was moving under 20 mph at midday on the westbound I-10 between North Palm Springs and Banning, according to Sigalert.com.

According to Caltrans, the lanes reopened but drivers in the area were warned to "expect heavy delays."
The I-10 is the main connector between the Los Angeles Basin and the Coachella Valley.
