Homicide Update: Arrest Made in San Diego
Alejandro Martinez Lara is being charged for the murder of Daniel Leonard. He was located and arrested at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

On Sunday, July 5, 2015, at about 2:00 pm, Alejandro Martinez Lara was taken into custody for the murder of Daniel Leonard. Lara was located in the City of San Diego at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
He was taken into custody by the San Diego Police Department, assisted by Military Police of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Lara was booked into Southwest Detention Center in the County of Riverside.

Lara is a civilian who has family in the military that allowed him on base. Naval Criminal Investigative Services at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar is investigating this aspect of the case.
