I-10 Big-Rig Crash In Calimesa Expected To Clear By 6 P.M.

The crash is blocking one lane on the eastbound side of the freeway, but traffic is backed up to Redlands.

CALIMESA, CA β€” A big rig overturned Monday on Interstate 10 in Calimesa, blocking a lane and leaving the driver with minor injuries.

The crash happened about 4:10 p.m. on the eastbound I-10, just west of Cherry Valley Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. The tractor-trailer rolled over on the shoulder, but a portion of the truck protruded into the slow lane, forcing emergency personnel to shut it down.

Calimesa Fire Department crews reached the location within a couple of minutes and treated the driver at the scene. It was unclear whether the victim required hospitalization.

CHP officers left two lanes open for traffic to pass on the eastbound side.

A heavy-duty tow truck was called to upright the semi and remove it from the freeway. The operation was expected to be completed by 6 p.m.
