Illegal Firearms Manufacturing Uncovered In Riverside County

Search warrants were served this week in Moreno and Perris. Three people were arrested.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA β€” An extensive investigation by gang task force officers into the manufacturing and sales of illegal firearms in Moreno Valley and Perris led to the arrests this week of two young men and one juvenile on multiple felony charges.

Jalen Harris, 20, Jarrid Rouly, 21, and a male juvenile β€” all of Moreno Valley β€” were taken into custody on a slew of serious charges.

Harris was being held at Riverside's Robert Presley Detention Center without bail due to a parole violation. He was booked on suspicion of conspiracy, felon possessing a firearm and ammunition, possessing a prohibited weapon, and illegally selling and transporting assault weapons, according to jail records.

Rouly was being held at the same facility in lieu of $1 million bail. He was booked on suspicion of manufacturing/selling a dangerous weapon, conspiracy, felon possessing a firearm and ammunition, and possession of an assault weapon, jail records show.

Both men were due to appear in court next week.

No information was available on the juvenile.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, multiple search warrants were served in Moreno Valley and Perris in connection with the investigation. The searches turned up 83 "switches" used to modify semi-automatic firearms into fully automatic; three 3-D printers used to manufacture weapons; nine finished handguns; five handgun frames; three handgun slides; multiple high-capacity magazines; several rounds of ammunition; miscellaneous tools; illegal fireworks; and $6,400 in U.S. currency.
