Little Change To Average Banning Area Gas Price

A slight drop in the cost of fuel is the 19th decrease in 21 days.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA β€” The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped one-tenth of a cent Friday to $3.595, the 19th decrease in 21 days.

The average price has dropped 8.4 cents over the past 21 days, including two-tenths of a cent on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped 14 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent on Saturday, dropped two-tenths of a cent on Sunday, was unchanged on Monday and resumed decreasing on Tuesday.

The average price is 1.1 cents less than one week ago and 7.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 4.9 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 32.7 cents since the start of the year.

"Concerns about flaring at the Chevron refinery in Richmond last week briefly pushed up local wholesale gasoline prices, but they headed back down this week as it became clear there is plenty of supply," said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
