Man Dies In Fiery Wreck At Banning I-10 Inspection Facility

The Indio resident was pronounced dead at the scene just before 3 a.m. Saturday, the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau announced.

BANNING, CA β€” The identity of a man killed over the weekend on westbound Interstate 10 at the Desert Hills Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility in Banning was released.

Bernardo Fajardo, 22, of Indio was pronounced dead at the scene just before 3 a.m. Saturday, the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau announced.

According to a KESQ report, a vehicle caught fire after crashing into the back of a big rig at the facility. The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m., according to the coroner.
