A resident at the Tuesday nightΒ meeting withΒ Banning Police Officers Association members asked whether there is a hiring moratorium at the department.

Banning policeΒ Cpl. Brandon Smith andΒ Cpl. Joe Feola were among police union members who answeredΒ questions Jan. 7 at Russo's Italian Kitchen.

The BPOA is the union forΒ allΒ 24 sworn non-administrationΒ personnel who work for the Banning Police Department, said Smith, an elected representative of theΒ Banning Police Officers Association.
