More Thunderstorms in Banning, Beaumont? NWS Says 'Maybe'

After a weekend of some crazy weather here in The Pass (dust storm, anyone?), you may be wondering if we'll see any of that again.

Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are possible in the mountains of Riverside County Monday through midweek. And a slight chance of afternoon and nighttime showers and thunderstorms is in the forecast Tuesday and Wednesday for the San Gorgonio Pass, according to the NWS.

The monsoonal moisture that has been increasing the chances for thunderstorms in the mountains and deserts is expected to ease up Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. However, the storms that develop before then may cause heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds and small hail each day through Wednesday.

"Monsoonal moisture will continue the chance for afternoon and early evening thunderstorms in the mountains and deserts through Wednesday, with drier southwest flow aloft reducing the potential during the latter half of the week," according to the weather service.

"Make sure you keep an eye toward the sky and if your plans include outdoor activities in the afternoon or evening plan for possible adverse weather conditions," according to the weather service. "Avoid hiking during thunderstorm events."

No rain is expected in the upcoming days in the valleys around Riverside or in the Coachella Valley.
