Morongo Casino Resort Postpones Shows Amid Coronavirus Concerns

As of Thursday, there have been no reports of COVID-19 exposure or illness at tribal facilities or business enterprises, an official said.

CABAZON, CA β€” Morongo Casino Resort & Spa announced it is postponing major upcoming shows and events in an effort to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

"The health, safety and wellbeing of our tribal members, team members, guests and the community are always our top priority," an emailed statement from Morongo spokesman Michael Fisher read.

Following the direction of the California Department of Public Health, "and out of an abundance of caution," Fisher said Morongo has cancelled the following events:

  • Flogging Molly, this Saturday, March 14
  • Marlon Wayans, Friday, March 20
  • Le Quyen, Sunday, March 22
  • Rob Lowe, Friday, March 27

Tickets for these events will be automatically refunded, Fisher said.

Auditions that were planned for Shark Tank on Thursday, March 19, and an upcoming Morongo job fair are also being postponed.

Morongo remains in close communication with state and local health officials and is working to reschedule these events, according to Fisher. For questions, call the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa at 800-252-4499.

"There have been no reports of Coronavirus exposure or illness at tribal facilities or business enterprises, and our operations team has increased our preventative cleaning schedules in public areas as an added safeguard to best protect our guests and team members," Fisher added. "During this time, Morongo continues to communicate and educate our employees about the Coronavirus to ensure we understand how to best protect guest and employee health."

Morongo officials are encouraging everyone to follow health tips issued by the CDC, including:

  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
