Multi-Family Building Damaged By Fire In Banning

BANNING, CA — A fire damaged a multi-family structure in Banning Wednesday night, but there were no reports of injuries.

The blaze was reported at 7:06 p.m. in the 500 block of Hathaway Street, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw heavy smoke coming from the two-story building's attic, the agency said. About 30 minutes later, crews knocked down the blaze but they remained at the location to mop up.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
