No Foul Play Suspected In Death Of Banning Baby: Police

Police say the baby was just three months old.

BANNING, CA β€” Banning police are investigating the sudden death of an infant in Banning that happened this week, the agency reported Thursday. The 3-month-old baby was not identified and officials said they do not suspect foul play was involved.

It happened around 7:20 a.m. Monday. Police say they were called to a home in the 100 block of North Murray Street for a "baby not breathing call" and arrived on scene within minutes.

"Once officers arrived, they observed that the baby was unresponsive and not breathing," police said in a news release. "Officers began performing life saving measures. Officers immediately took the baby to Cal-Fire Station #89 which is located at 172 North Murray Street and directly across the street from the residence."

Despite the efforts of the CalFire paramedics, the baby was pronounced dead a short time later.

"The Banning Police Department Detective Bureau was summonsed to the scene and took over the investigation," police said. "At this time, there is no foul play suspected in the incident; however, the investigation is ongoing."
