An off-roadΒ motorcyclist was fatally injured Sunday near Borrego Springs and he was pronounced deceased that night at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, according to the coroner.
The crash occurred between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 29 atΒ Ocotillo Wells State Vehicle Recreation Area, Riverside CountyΒ coroner's personnel said in a statement.
AlexΒ Chisholm, 17, of Newport Beach, was described by the coronerΒ as an "operator of an off road motorcycle who lost control and struck own handlebars."
Chisholm was pronounced deceased at Desert RegionalΒ just after 11 p.m. Sunday, coroner's personnel said.
State Park police and rangers were investigating. The state recreation area is near the San Diego-Imperial county line.
