Over 1 Million Californians Without Power As Storm Pummels California
In some parts of Northern California, half of all people are without power Sunday night.

CALIFORNIA β Over 1 million Californians were without power Sunday night as heavy rain pounding much of the state has led to flash floods, toppled trees and mudslides.
As the rain continued to fall Sunday night, utilities across the state were reporting massive outages.
Regions served by Pacific Gas and Electric, which includes the majority of the state between Santa Barbara and Humboldt counties, were particularly hard hit. PG&E reported over 682,000 customers without power.

One of the hardest-hit areas for outages in the state was Santa Clara County, where nearly half of customers are without power, according to outage aggregator PowerOutage.us.
Nearly 20 percent of customers in San Francisco were without power.

The worst outages were centered around the Bay Area, Central Coast and Sacramento. In SoCal, only some 13,000 customers were without power in Los Angeles County. Outages have largely spared other parts of the region.
The National Weather Service says the storm will remain a "major threat" through Tuesday, with the rain likely not letting up much until Tuesday morning as the storm moves south. In SoCal, Flooding could become an even bigger concern Monday and forecasters say mudslides, fallen trees and power outages are all guaranteed to occur.
