Pechanga Cancels July 4 Fireworks Show: 'Too Many Risks'

Pechanga Resort Casino hopes to bring back its fireworks display in 2021, officials said.

TEMECULA, CA β€” In an effort to help stop the spread of coronavirus, Pechanga leaders announced Wednesday the decision to forego July 4 fireworks.

β€œWe take great pride in bringing a grand fireworks display to our community and to our guests every 4th of July,” said Jared Munoa, president of the Pechanga Development Corporation. β€œAlthough progress has been made in stemming the spread of COVID, there are still too many risks associated with mass gatherings. The health and safety of our guests, team members and community force us to forego this year’s 4th of July fireworks show.”
