Police Investigate Apparent Suicide In Beaumont

BEAUMONT, CA β The partial closure of Potrero Boulevard Monday afternoon was the result of a police investigation into a possible suicide, Beaumont officials said.
The road was closed between Oak Valley Parkway and Castello Lane in Beaumont, which is a stretch of roadway that includes a bridge spanning across railroad tracks. First responders were positioned on the bridge.
The incident was reported around 4 p.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. The agency responded to the scene alongside police.

Further updates about the death were not expected until Tuesday morning, the Beaumont Police Department reported.
The roadway was expected to reopen after 6:30 p.m.
