RivCo Child Struck, Killed by Truck Identified

MORENO VALLEY, CA - A 2-year-old boy struck and killed by a truck in Moreno Valley has been publicly identified. Nazarey Flores-Arizmendi of Moreno Valley died about 10:20 a.m. Wednesday after he was hit in the 24500 block of Fir Avenue, near Indian Street.

Authorities did not say how or why the toddler ended up in the roadway.

The truck driver who ran into the victim stopped and remained at the location, where he was questioned but not arrested, according to sheriff's officials.

Paramedics pronounced Nazarey dead at the scene.

The sheriff's investigation was ongoing.
