Riverside County COVID-19 Update: Latest Numbers

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County reported 164 newly confirmed coronavirus cases Wednesday, 26 additional virus-related deaths and a slight drop in hospitalizations.

The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded since the public health documentation period began in March 2020 is 293,600, according to the Riverside University Health System, which also reported a total of 4,190 deaths. The fatalities are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates.

Coronavirus patients in county hospitals numbered 143 as of Wednesday, six fewer than Tuesday. That number includes 32 COVID-positive ICU patients, four more than a day ago.
