WINCHESTER, CA β€” Fire crews are conducting a controlled burn Tuesday off Domenigoni Parkway, east of Winchester, it was announced by Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The 40-acre burn began at 7 a.m. and is scheduled to last until about noon.

The burn is part of the Cal Fire Vegetation Management Program, which aims to eliminate non-native grasses and reduce flammable plants. Cal Fire Conservation Camp crews are training at the site alongside Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department crews.
