Seriously Injured Paraglider Rescued From Remote San Jacinto Hillside
The rescue operation took about four hours Wednesday night.
SAN JACINTO, CA β It took about four hours Wednesday night to rescue a seriously injured paraglider who crashed on a remote, foggy hillside north of Soboba Casino Resort in unincorporated San Jacinto, according to authorities.
The downed paraglider was reported at 7:02 p.m., north of Soboba Road, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
Due to poor visibility from fog and the remoteness of the area β 4,000 feet up the hillside in heavy brush β first responders were unable to use aircraft to rescue the victim. Instead, firefighters hiked up to the injured paraglider and carried the person down the hill.
