Smokey Redlands Fire Burns 5 Acres
A smokey, wind driven blaze burning in Redlands was 10 percent contained Monday afternoon.

BANNING, CA β Powerful Santa Ana winds fueled a smokey fire burning a short distance the SR-210 Freeway, just north of the I-10 Freeway in Redlands Monday. The fire scorched 5 acres and was 10 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.
Cal Fire San Bernardino Unit, in unified command with Redlands Fire department was was responding to the "Orange" incident, Cal Fire said in an Instagram post just after 12:30 p.m.
"The wind has been a challenge for firefighters as well as the rocky terrain," Cal Fire officials wrote on Instagram.

The blaze was sending smoke into the Yucaipa and Beaumont areas.
Strong Santa Ana winds were sweeping through Southern California Monday with parts of the region experiencing gusts of up to 80 mph that were expected to continue through Tuesday afternoon.
