Spot Fires Erupt Along Railroad Tracks In Calimesa
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning adjacent to Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

CALIMESA, CA β Multiple spot fires erupted Friday alongside railroad tracks in Calimesa, burning more than an acre before crews got them partially contained.
The two non-injury fires were reported about 12:45 p.m. in the area of Redlands Boulevard and San Timoteo Canyon Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames burning adjacent to Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

About 1.5 acres had burned and at least one Cal Fire air tanker was summoned to make drops on the blazes, according to reports from the scene.
Train traffic was temporarily halted for public safety.

Within a half-hour, crews were making quick progress encircling the fires, which were expected to be completely under control by 2:30 p.m.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fires, which remained under investigation.
