Two People Injured in Pine Cove Fire

The fire was extinguished around 5 a.m.

IDYLLWILD (CNS) - Two people were injured Monday when fire engulfed a home in the Idyllwild-Pine Cove area.

The fire was reported at 3:40 a.m. in the 23400 block of Highway 243, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. It is known as the Banning- Idyllwild Panoramic Highway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The roadway was closed between Overlook Drive and Pine Cove Road due to the fire.

At least one person was trapped inside the home when firefighters arrived, fire officials said.

One civilian was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries and the other was transported by ground ambulance with moderate injuries, fire officials said. The fire was reported out at about 5 a.m.
