Tall casino resort buildingsΒ in Riverside County make training for high-rise fires a necessity every year,Β Cal Fire-IndioΒ Battalion Chief Daniel Talbot said Wednesday in Rancho Mirage.
"We have a need to do this on an annual basis so that we're prepared and ready to respond," Talbot told Patch outside Agua CalienteΒ Casino Resort Spa on Bob Hope Drive.
"This particular building is 17 stories in height and it is a hotel high-rise resort," Talbot said.
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon is Riverside County's tallest building.
"Casino Morongo,Β it's 27 floors, withΒ the attic it'sΒ 28," Talbot said.
The training Wednesday was part of a three-dayΒ High-Rise Operations Course covering topics related to suppressing a high-rise fire, such asΒ building construction, elevator safety, ventilation, and commandΒ structure, according to Cal Fire-Riverside County.
