Belmont City Council Needs A New Member: Apply Now
The seat, opened by the resignation of Councilman Doug Kim last month, is for a term ending in November 2020.

BELMONT, CA — Applications for a vacant seat on the Belmont City Council are being accepted through noon on Oct. 11, the city announced Friday.
The seat, opened by the resignation of Councilman Doug Kim last month, is for a term ending in November 2020.
"Interested applicants must reside and be registered to vote in Belmont and are required to submit an application on a form provided by the City along with a resume of education and experience along with a 400-500 word statement indicating the applicant's intent to apply and why they should be selected," according to the announcement.

An application and questionnaire are available online on the City Council page of the Belmont website, www.belmont.gov, or at the City Clerk's Office.
Kim, previously a planning commissioner, was elected to a four-year term in 2015 and his term was extended by a year when council elections were moved to even years. He served as mayor in 2018.
