Belmont Extends Planning Commission Recruitment Period
Interested in helping shape the future of Belmont?

Belmont, CA -- The City of Belmont is currently recruiting residents who are interested in serving as members of the Planning Commission. The deadline has been extended to 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 in order to increase the pool of applicants. The application is available on the City’s website: www.belmont.gov under “I Want to….Apply,” by calling (650) 595-7408 or 595-7413, or in person at the City Manager’s Office or the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, One Twin Pines Lane.

There are a total of four openings on the Planning Commission, two of which are currently held by incumbents who have reapplied. The other two positions are vacant, one of which has one year remaining, the other has two years. A full term on the Planning Commission is three years. The City Council will consider applications from Belmont residents.
The Planning Commission meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 p.m. The Commission reviews and takes action on planning applications and makes recommendations to the City Council on zoning and land use issues.

To apply for any of these positions and to have an opportunity to contribute to your community, fill out the application form available on the website or from the City Manager’s or Clerk’s Office (One Twin Pines Lane), and return it to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019. Applicants must live in Belmont. There is a small stipend paid for this commission. An electronic copy of the application is acceptable to meet the deadline, as long as it contains a signature
