BELMONT, CA — Want to catch up with the latest happenings in government within the city of Belmont? Here's a great place to start. The April 20 Weekly Update from the City Manager is posted to the City's webpage and can be viewed here.
Among the most notable highlights is a reminder that minimum wage is increasing in town, effective July 1. At that point, it will become $12.50 per hour. California's current minimum wage is $11 per hour.
The city notes that "employers who are subject to the Belmont Business License Tax or who maintain a facility in Belmont must pay each employee who performs at least two hours of work per week in Belmont minimum wages not less than $12.50 per hour."
