Final List of Belmont Certified Candidates Released
In addition to the City Council race, three measures were placed on this ballot by the City Council.

From The City of Belmont: The City of Belmont will hold a General Municipal Election on November 6, 2018. Three seats on the five-member City Council will be up for election. Incumbents Warren Lieberman, Charles Stone, and Julia Mates have qualified for the ballot, as has newcomer Deniz Marie Bolbol.
In addition to the City Council race, three measures were placed on this ballot by the City Council. One measure will ask voters whether to raise the hotel guest tax (also known as transient occupancy tax) from 10 to 12 percent. The other two measures will ask voters whether the positions of City Clerk and City Treasurer should be appointive rather than elected. A simple majority is required to pass any of these three measures.
