Power Outage Affecting Thousands on Peninsula

More than 3,000 PG&E customers were without power on the Peninsula Tuesday morning, according to a company spokesman.

The outage, which started around 7:10 a.m., initially affected about 4,500 customers between Catamaran Street and Pitcairn Drive in Foster City, PG&E spokesman Jason King said.

Power was restored to 1,000 customers around 8:50 a.m., he said. PG&E expected to restore power to the remaining 3,500 customers by about 11 a.m., King said.

He said the cause of the outage is still under investigation but that there might have been a problem with overhead equipment.
