San Mateo County Fire Crews To Conduct Prescribed Burn
Crews with Cal Fire, the Ben Lomond Adult Conservation Fire Camp and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission will assist the SMCFD.

BELMONT, CA — Fire crews from multiple agencies will conduct a prescribed burn in Belmont on Tuesday, officials said.
Light smoke will be visible in parts of the Peninsula on Interstate 280, the San Mateo County Fire Department officials said.
The operation will begin a 9 a.m. and there is no need to call 911, officials said.

The goal of this annual burn is to reduce fire fuels and maintain the integrity of the earthen dam. It also provides training for firefighters as fire season gets into full swing.
Crews with CAL FIRE, the San Mateo County Fire Department and the Ben Lomond Adult Conservation Fire Camp in Santa Cruz plan to conduct a one-day, dam-facing burn on an eight-acre parcel of San Francisco Public Utilities Commission watershed property.
