A Taste of Belmont Shore: Stroll & Savor's Back

Our own "taste of Belmont Shore" is back for summer grazing Thursday night as Stroll & Savor dining returns on Second Street. The popular outdoor knoshing on the fly has become a warm-weather tradition on our main street, and more than 40 restaurants will dish up their fare --for tickets not cash.

A Shore event that draws thousands from the local neighborhood and beyond, the sidewalks fill with food and people, who can check out the offerings from each restaurant or food purveyor first, then line up to be served.

Scarfing begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. The drill, for first-timers, is that you buy tickets in advance at various stores, or the night of. Then you use the tickets to purchase food.

About 40 restaurants or food providers will participate (they may be subject to change) and they offer fare from their menus. Local musicials will also perform - Crossroads Band Wednesday night and the popular returning Blue Steel Band (law enforcement) Thursday - at Corona & 2nd St. Across the street, and on 2nd Street at LaVerne, the band Sycamore Creek will perform in front of Fromex Photo.

Tickets are sold at various locations on 2nd Street and are available for pre-sale on the day of purchase at $10 for a book of 12 tickets. You can often dine for under $10 on some very nice fare.
