Take Your Kids to Work Day at Long Beach Memorial

More than 100 youths went on the job with their parents at Long Beach Memorial for Take Your Children to Work Day Friday.

Dressed like pirates, the kids were able to observe what it is like to work every day healing and caring for people.

"Children of employees got a behind-the-scenes tour of Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children’s, to learn how each hospital specially serves patients and their families. Kids had the chance to visit more than 30 different areas of both hospitals, participated in face painting, cookie decorating, a bean bag toss and basketball game during lunch."

"Children were able to peek at newborn babies, sit in a blood donor’s chair and learn how important blood is for saving lives and investigate the inside of a pediatric ambulance to see how it works. Please place in your next publication."
