Body Found Near Alamitos Bay, Belmont Shore

BELMONT SHORE, CA – A man's body was found Thursday at the mouth of the San Gabriel River in Long Beach.

Officers responded about 12:15 p.m. to a report of a body in the 100 block of Marina Drive, Long Beach Police Department Public Information Officer Shaunna Dandoy said.

"Officers are currently waiting for the coroner to arrive to do a preliminary assessment to determine if foul play is involved," Dandoy said.

The body was spotted about noon and a Seal Beach lifeguard reached the man and found he was dead, Jake Heflin of the Long Beach Fire Department told the Long Beach Post.
