Downtown Fitness Loop Hosts Grand Opening June 3
The Downtown Fitness Loop is a 4.8-mile walking/running path with distance markers that connect fitness equipment stations.

From Long Beach Parks, Recreation & Marine Department: The public is invited to attend the new Downtown Fitness Loop Grand Opening Ceremony on Saturday, June 3 at 11:30 am, located at 160 E. Shoreline Dr. (adjacent to Dock 10 Parker’s Lighthouse dock). Guests will get a first look at the newly installed, free to use exercise equipment and learn about the entire Fitness Loop.
"The Downtown Fitness Loop is the eighth free Fitness Loop to be developed in Long Beach,” said Mayor Robert Garcia. “Opportunities to easily access free fitness equipment will improve health and mobility for all residents.”
The Downtown Fitness Loop is a 4.8-mile walking/running path bordered by Alamitos Avenue, East Shoreline Drive, Aquarium Road, West Shoreline Drive and Ocean Boulevard. The loop has distance markers that connect fitness equipment stations, allowing exercisers to develop a routine suited for them.

The fitness loop complements the Beach Pedestrian Path and the nearby Bixby Fitness Loop. Throughout the path, five active stations such as pull-up/dip bars, and six passive stations such as balance, stretch and squats, are positioned.
“These easy-to-use outdoor gyms create a fun, accessible, and social environment where people can enjoy getting fit by using top-quality exercise equipment and stations suitable for all fitness levels,” said Councilmember Jeannine Pearce.
