Downtown Long Beach Scores With Atomic Basement

I wrote about Mike Wellman on September 22nd, 2012, when I was playing a game I called the Community Lemonade Game. It was Day 83 of a planned 100 day odyssey of meeting creatives. Mike is a Mega Creative.

Mike Wellman, recently of the Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach, will launch a new creative space in Long Beach in December. It will also sell comic books.

I'd heard the whispers, and read it on BleedingCool just now. The cat is out of the bag.

Mike Wellman, together with friend Anthony Davies, will be opening Atomic Basement Comics and Creator's Lab on Wednesday, December 4th, at 400 East Third Street in Long Beach, CA.

There's a lot of energy that will come with Mike, and Long Beach can expect to see some well-known faces in the comic book and cartoon production space.

Creatives and fans have travelled far to visit the Comic Bug stores in Manhattan Beach and Culver City, partly for the awesome Free Comic Book Day and 24 Hour Comic Book Day events that have been put on by the entourage of artists that Mike attracts.

Atomic Basement is a publishing brand developed by Mike. It often features new story makers, comic writers and artists.

Patricia Tsoiasue runs Shoreline Village's Brickersville, a Brick-filled Maker Space for play and discovery that is also a support infrastructure for skills and entrepreneurship learning through LEGO® Brick play. Brickersville's philosophy is "Anything can start with LEGO® Bricks".

Trish is a creative problem solver trained in (and has found her creative confidence through) the methods of the Creative Problem Solving Institute and LEGO® Serious Play.
