Fallen L.A. County Officers Honored Wednesday

Hundreds of law enforcement officers expected from around the region.

Hundreds of law enforcement offices are expected at the 44th Annual Los Angeles County Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony, which will honor the lives of peace officers killed in the line of duty, Wednesday morning.

The 10 a.m. ceremony will pay special tribute to Deputy Constable Charles A. De Moranville, Deputy Harry S. Guard and Deputy Emma Benson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Chief Henry P. Tracy of the Pomona Police Department. "Historical research revealed these peace officers died in the line of duty between 1909 and 1919, and their names will be added to the Memorial Wall," the Sheriff's Dept. announced.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca will attend and Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, who will deliver the keynote address.  a 

The commemoration will be at the Sheriff’s Training Academy and Regional Services (STARS) Center at 11515 Colima Road in Whittier.
