FREE Long Beach Creative Events and Activities!

It's no secret that I like secrets, but a blogger's secrets are only secret to those who do not read her blog. Honestly, this is one secret that I don't mind if you share.

I'm so excited! I think you may have read that Mike Wellman and Anthony Davies have opened Atomic Basement, a publishing company, creative community and Comic Book store at 400 E. 3rd in good old Long Beach, California!

Mike has started his Creator's Lab, which runs after the store closing on Comic Book Wednesdays (the day all new comics are released). It's a place and time for artists of all skill levels to come together and work on their next comic book. Who doesn't want to be published?

I'll be there, but I'll also be there on the first Saturday of every month, working on characters and story for what I hope to be my first comic. First I'll have to learn how to draw. For those of you who subscribe to my Squigglemom YouTube channel, you will find my explorations in drawing there.

I think you may know that I don't do anything alone. Collaboration is my middle name. I'm looking for those who might want to collaborate with me on this very exciting project!

After we're done at the Atomic Basement, we're headed down to Shoreline Village's Brickersville for (Free) Open Mic and for a (Free) Long Beach LEGO ® User Group meeting which is being hosted at Brickersville this month!
