Get Ready to Scream in Long Beach
The Midsummer Scream! provides the opportunity for haunters from all over to gather in a single place: Long Beach
Long Beach has its fair share of ghosts, haunts and Halloween events. October is a spooky month for us all! However... many do not venture to Long Beach to scream in October, and many in Long Beach do not venture to other locations to scream. There's too much going on everywhere in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Orange County. In every theme park, at homes decked out by hobby haunters. It's a big party, and all you need is to step outside.
For those who can't wait until October - some of us have to get our costumes out more than once a year - there are the local cons (conventions) that are presented under a number of themes. Anime festivals, Geek Cons, Comic Cons, Cosplay cons.
And now, for those who can't wait until October to scream, there is the Midsummer Scream. Right here in our beloved Long Beach, you can sample and find out more about the offerings of the local haunts. There'll be haunts and there'll be how-to haunts. Short films, horrorful theater companies, a haunt to scream your way through. Previews of the offerings by Universal Studios, Six Flags, Knotts Scary farm and, of course, our very own Queen Mary.

Where will I be screaming? There's a special Hall of Shadows which will feature several home and professional haunt experiences. There is a special feature produced by CalHauntS, a collaboration of hobbyists focused on prop making.
For the younger set, there will be a large children’s area with arts and crafts, friendly monsters and Buster Balloon, entertainer and master balloon artist.
